Its over for another year!

Ah, so the festivities are over for another year. Just New Year to get through and we can get back to normality.

The Good Lady went back to work on Boxing Day so I have been amusing myself for the last few days.  I have been itching to get outside but the weather has not been conducive to out door activities.  I have braved the odd hour but getting wet is no fun.

What I have been doing is alot of research into round houses earth bag building and general low impact construction.  I can feel a plan being hatched in the next few weeks!  I find the whole thing fascinating and a tonic for these dull gloomy days.

To the tune of Cliff's Miseltoe and Wine.

"Christmas time, Brandy and wine,
Larger and cider to have a good time.

Drinks on the table,
More at the bar.

This will be the best Christmas,
by far."

Happy Christmas to everyone.

Sitting in bed eating Lindor thinking about running a bath.

Woo hoo second post!

We survived the Homebase Christmas party on Sunday.  Not my favourite thing as I am not a party person, but it was ok.

Without much to tell, I have decided to post a few boat pictures pictures. Partly as an experiment and partly as a reminder of warmer days out on the river.

So here is Mabel.  Our current boat.  Much travelled on the Great Ouse and Cam.  We have even over nighted on her!  Its a bit of a squeeze but fun none the less.

And here is one I made earlier!  A 12 foot electric skiff.

And another! Gavin Atkin's masterpiece. The Mouse Boat.
One more for now! The 8 foot ultralite paddle boat.

The Man in Black fled across the desert.  And the Gunslinger followed.

So this is my first post.  I am not going to make a lengthy speech about what this blog is going to be about.  I don't know yet.  But you dear readers can expect ramblings about boats, Fen rivers, Honda C90s and things like that.
